Life’s an Unspoilt Beach - Isles of Scilly
The islands are a uniquely blessed corner of England,
a haven of outstanding natural beauty far from the madding
crowd. The islands boast many spectacular powder white
beaches and crystal clear waters, one might expect to find
in somewhat further flung destinations than south west
England.
Scilly is made up of over 100 islands of which 5 are
inhabited, with St Mary’s being the largest. The other inhabited
islands are Tresco, St Martin’s, Bryher and St Agnes.
A fleet of tripper boats take visitors between the islands
during the holiday season. Enjoying a temperate maritime
climate with longer sun hours and milder average temperatures
than the mainland, the islands are fortunate to be an excellent
all year round holiday destination. Spring and Summer are
a great time to relax and soak up the sun on one of our
many beautiful, deserted white sandy beaches, or pay a
visit to the sub-tropical gardens on Tresco. For all its
temperate mellowness, a wintery Scilly can also be witness
to impressive storms and tempestuous seas. Autumn and Winter
on the islands are wonderful times to revel in the islands’ impressive
natural beauty and warm local hospitality. |
